February 9, 2024: Erie, PA: US-based non-profit, PhD Career Support Group DBA STEMPeers, a 21,000+ member organization, announces the asset purchase agreement of their oncology news aggregator platform, Onco-This-Week, to Rosenblatt Life Science Consultants (RLS Consultants). Rosenblatt Life Science Consultants is a global consulting and training firm focusing exclusively on the healthcare and life sciences industries, regarded by clients as a leading provider of opportunity assessment services, utilizing comprehensive expertise in strategic market research, forecasting and modeling, as well as pricing and market access to facilitate commercial assessments.
Founded in 2015, with a goal to support the career development of immigrant STEM PhDs, STEMPeers created several platforms related to mentorship and skill development over the years. Through these programs in the past 100 months, STEMPeers has aimed to address an unmet need resulting from a disparity in career preparation between US-trained and foreign-trained STEM graduate students. During the early days of STEMPeers, an analysis of the career-related discussions among the members of STEMPeers community identified a need for a higher level of awareness of the day-to-day medicine and business news flow emerging from the Pharma and Biotech world. That analysis resulted in the formation of MedNess (MEDicine busiNESS) (medness.org) in 2017, focused on the effect of medical innovations on biotech stocks and share markets. It was a humble attempt to bring scientists to the forefront of equity science.
Onco-This-Week became a part of MedNess in 2018 when Richa Tewari, PhD brought her skills in oncology consulting to provide updated information from different sources in a systematized way to more than 20,000 members of STEMPeers. In the last ~6 years, Onco-This-Week has provided more than 250 editions of weekly oncology newsletters to the MedNess subscribers and STEMPeers community. In this process, Onco-This-Week has enabled the career transitions of the MedNess team members to careers in Equity Research, Investment Banking, Management Consulting, Business Development, Medical Communications, Legal Advisory, Technology Transfer, and Corporate Strategy. The reason for the resounding success of OTW has been the significant improvement in the business communication skills of OTW’s traditionally academic team through the week-after-week publishing of pharma news.
